Civil Division

The Civil Division serves as chief legal advisors for the County. They also handle a variety of non-criminal complaints as they prosecute violations of State and County civil laws, review contracts, and represent the county in civil litigation.

Additionally, the Division represents the court in tax matters, community development, election matters and building and zoning issues. They also regularly issue formal opinions and provide regular advice to department heads of the County on specific law-related questions.
